Donor Advised Funds
Donor Advised Funds are an increasingly popular giving tool, especially for batching your charitable contributions to get the most tax benefit in a single transaction. If you have one, submit a request to your DAF custodian for a grant to Yellowstone River Parks Association, Tax ID # 36-4096295.

Endowment Giving
YRPA has three endowment funds: one with the Montana Community Foundation and two with the Billings Community Foundation. Endowment gifts using a Deferred Gift Annuity can qualify for the Montana Endowment Tax Credit, a 1:1 tax credit for up to 40% of your Montana state income taxes. Endowment gifts are made directly to the funds at either Foundation, and DGA gifts require an agreement signed directly with them. Contact the Billings Community Foundation or the Montana Community Foundation for more information.
IRA Distributions
If you are 70.5 years of age or older, you can make a donation directly from your IRA. Starting at age 73, you are required to take a distribution but can donate up to $105,000 per individual an avoid otherwise associated income tax. Ask your IRA custodian to write a check directly to YRPA. Send to PO Box 1201, Billings MT 59103.
Bequests and Beneficiary
A beneficiary designation is usually directly listed on your IRA, 401k, Life Insurance, real estate, or other property. A bequest is a gift of assets designated through a will or trust. See our recommended bequest language here.
While not all of these gift types require you to work with us directly, we appreciate notification on any of them so that we may express our appreciation and integrate your gifts into our planning. Thank you!
