Programming at Dover Park
Connecting people with the natural and cultural resources of our parks has always been part of the work of YRPA. Our in-house program, Friday Field Days, is every other Friday morning for grades K-8 — click the button for more info. Check our calendar page for upcoming public events.
Dover Activity Center
The Dover Activity Center opened in 2023 as a space for education programs, meetings, and events. In addition to housing YRPA and partner programs, the Center is available for rent for private gatherings.
Catkins Nature School
Catkins Nature School is an independent business in partnership with YRPA, providing early childhood outdoor education at John H Dover Memorial Park.
Partners and Park History
YRPA is deeply indebted to the Dover/Sindelar Family, whose stewardship of the Dover Ranch from 1882 - 2021 and whose long-term vision form the foundation of what is now John H Dover Memorial Park. The property is also part of historic tribal lands of the Apsaalooke (Crow), and the plants, animals, and natural features at the park have importance to many indigenous cultures, including the dozens of tribes present in the urban Billings area today.
